November 6, 2014 – H.R.H. Crown Prince Haakon of Norway visited today company Telenor, the largest single investor in Serbia. On that occasion the latest service on the national banking market was introduced - opening of current account with no visit to the bank.

 
The host of this event was Ove Fredheim, CEO of Telenor Serbia, while more about the future of innovations and relations between Serbia and Norway was said by Tatjana Matić, State Secretary of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of the Republic of Serbia, Dilek Ayhan, State Secretary of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries of the Kingdom of Norway and Martin Navratil, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Telenor banka.

“We are honoured by the visit of H.R.H. Crown Prince Haakon of Norway to Telenor. During eight years of our operations we have invested over EUR 340 million in numerous projects in Serbia, and the latest is the opening of Telenor banka, in which EUR 40 million is being invested. We will continue to invest in the market of Serbia because we are an innovative company guided by its customers’ wishes and needs. We endeavour to be a reliable partner of the state of Serbia and a responsible Norwegian investor, always ready to provide an incentive for the development of the local economy”, said Ove Fredheim, CEO of Telenor Serbia.
On this occasion, HRH Crown Prince Haakon symbolically marked the launch of the latest service with which Telenor banka is becoming the only bank in Serbia in which a customer can physically open an account without having to visit its branch office.
“In the previous year the total revenues from the telecommunications market in Serbia amounted to 4.85 percent of gross domestic product and investment in this industry are constantly continuing. Telenor investments have significantly contributed to this as they are a confirmation of it being a credible partner on the market of Serbia. Norway is one of the most important investors in the country and we will do our best at intensifying that cooperation in the future to the maximum,” says Tatjana Matić, State Secretary of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of the Republic of Serbia.

Mobile application on IOS platform

After the arrival of iPhone to Telenor offer, Telenor banka is presenting mobile banking application for IOS platform. With the presentation of this service, Telenor banka is continuing with the introduction of innovations in its concept of online mobile banking combining telecommunications and financial services. When registering, in the Bank’s internet or mobile application all interested citizens can select the option for receiving the necessary contract documentation to home address.
 
Telenor Banka is part of the Telenor Group, one of the largest world mobile operators with more than 192 million customers on 13 markets.
In 2013, Telenor acquired 100% of the shares of KBC Bank, with the aim to offer to Serbian citizens through Telenor Banka modern and innovative mobile and Internet financial services.
Telenor is the largest single investor in Serbia with an initial investment of 1.53 million euros. The first mobile and online bank in the country is oriented towards daily citizens’ transactions, offering them daily banking on the move. Telenor Banka is the 2014 laureate of the American Chamber of Commerce’s Leaders in Change Award.
