TELENOR BANKA THE FIRST IN THE REGION TO INTRODUCE CONTACTLESS ATMS
June 24, 2015 – Telenor Banka has introduced contactless cash withdrawals at its ATMs and made it even easier for its customers to withdraw money without inserting their cards in the machine, thus speeding up the procedure and reducing overall transaction time. Contactless banking is enabled at 37 Telenor Banka ATMs throughout Serbia.
Customers can withdraw cash in two currencies – the dinar and the euro – by simply holding the card against the designated “PayPass“ spot on the terminal. Based on the bank account, the ATM will immediately recognize the customer and the language; after entering the PIN code, the money can be withdrawn and the transaction takes place.
Apart from withdrawals in dinars or euros, customers can now check the balance on their multicurrency current accounts even faster.
“I am glad that we are the first in the region to support contactless ATM transactions, thereby further improving customer experience at the first mobile online bank. This service is currently available only to the customers of Telenor Banka, but in the coming period we will aim to also make it available to citizens who use contactless cards of other banks,” says Miloš Polovina, Product Development Manager of Telenor Banka.
Telenor Banka is the only bank in Serbia where customers can open an account without physically visiting a branch office – by simply using Telenor Banka’s mobile or Internet apps. All Serbian citizens can open a multicurrency current account with the contactless debit MasterCard offered as part of the Progresiv or Starter tariff package. They can also buy or sell foreign currency at affordable rates, send money abroad, receive money from abroad without double fees, or make all sorts of payments.
